Floating Icon

Floating Icon appears in the lower-right corner of the Apple Notes window and provides quick access to features for the current note. Configure it under Notomo → Settings → Notes → Floating icon.

Choose when it appears

  • When editing a note: Show only when the note editor has focus. This is the default.
  • Always: Show whenever Apple Notes is in the foreground, including while browsing the note list or searching.
  • Never: Hide the Floating Icon completely.

Choose buttons

Enable one or more of these buttons:

  • Backlinks button: Show sources that reference the current note.
  • Table of contents button: Navigate the current note by heading structure.
  • Command palette button: Open Command Palette.
  • Ask AI button: Open Assistant for the current note.

At least one button remains enabled. To show no buttons, change the display setting to Never.

The Backlinks button may show a badge with the known number of sources for the current note. The Floating Icon temporarily collapses while Backlinks or Table of Contents is open and returns when the panel closes.
