License and Updates

The release version of Notomo includes a 30-day free trial. Trial status, license controls, and update controls are under Notomo → Settings → About.

Activate a license

1. Open About settings.
2. Enter the key you received after purchase under License Key.
3. Click Activate.
4. Wait for Tier status to show a valid plan.

The license key and activation status are stored in the macOS Keychain where applicable. Activation requires an internet connection.

If you do not have a license, click Purchase License to open the Notomo pricing page.

Refresh or deactivate

• Refresh: Check the current license status again.
• Deactivate…: Release this Mac’s activation slot. You can activate again later with the same key.
• Retry Cleanup: Continue clearing residual state when a previous activation, license replacement, or deactivation did not complete.

Do not quit Notomo during deactivation or cleanup. If asked for the previous license key, use the key from before the replacement to complete remote cleanup.

Software updates

Notomo receives signed updates through Sparkle:

• Enable Automatically download and install updates to handle future releases automatically.
• Click Check for Updates… to check immediately.

Notomo installations from either a DMG or Homebrew receive future releases through the same in-app update flow.

Note

Development builds do not share licenses, permissions, or settings with release builds. When troubleshooting a release build, confirm that Notomo, not Notomo Dev, is open.
