Common Issues

  1. Open Notomo → Settings → General and confirm that Accessibility permission is active.
  2. Click the Apple Notes editor and try again.
  3. Check whether another text-expansion tool intercepts the input first.
  4. If you just granted permission again, quit and reopen Notomo.

Confirm that Settings → Notes → Inline toolbar → Enable inline toolbar is enabled, then select a non-empty range of text again in the Apple Notes editor. The toolbar does not appear in the note list, search field, or where there is no valid selection.

Confirm that access to the Apple Notes database folder is granted and the target note has synced to this Mac. Then reopen Apple Notes and search again.

Confirm that a standard Apple Notes note is selected and check database access. If you see Last known or No known backlinks, Notomo is using previous results because the current refresh has not fully verified every source.

Check provider credentials and the network connection, then run the availability check again in AI settings. Some providers also require the selected model to support the attachments or Web features used by the request.

If the model selector is empty, confirm that at least one provider is signed in or fully configured and enabled in settings.

Attachments or Web Search options are unavailable

These capabilities depend on the current provider and model. Switch to a model that supports them, or configure Brave Search, Jina Search, or Jina Reader under Settings → AI → Extensions. Notomo hides controls unavailable for the current model.

Confirm that Settings → Notes → Slash command is enabled and Accessibility permission remains active. Also check whether another text-expansion app captures / first. Slash Commands triggers only at the start of the current line in Apple Notes.

Confirm that the network is available, the key has no extra spaces, and you have not reached the Mac activation limit. If Retry Cleanup appears in settings, finish cleaning up the previous activation or deactivation before entering a new key.

Confirm that you are using the release version, Notomo, then retry under Settings → About → Check for Updates…. Development builds, local builds, or network blocking may prevent Sparkle from reading update information.

Quit and reopen both Notomo and Apple Notes. If the problem continues, record:

  • macOS version
  • Notomo version and build number
  • Whether you use the release build or Notomo Dev
  • Reproducible steps
  • Any error message or screenshot

Then contact support through Settings → About → Send Feedback. Do not paste API keys, OAuth tokens, license keys, or private note content into feedback.
